​”xD” is the new LOL

Hold it right there!!! Now that I have your attention, let me first apologise for posting something I wrote ages ago. . .  This time I blame my hectic study schedule. I am, for all intents and purposes, a stay-at-home student at the present. Nevertheless, I’m confident you’ll like this one  *insert Sheldon voice*’xD’ 

Are you bored of using “LOL”  after every sentence even when you don’t find what you’re saying all that funny? Are you on the quest for a simple replacement to that vexing three alphabets L-O-L while still managing to seem cool? “
Then know that there’s already an effective replacement in store. It’s actually  been there for way longer than you might imagine.

And no, its not ROFL, lol please.

Ladies and Dudes, presenting to you the “xD” an addictive and effective substitute for the ineffable LOL.
So today morning my Aunt asked me why I kept using xD in all my Facebook posts and captions and comments and what I meant by it.

I’m ashamed to say I succumbed to peer pressure when it came to the xD. .  . I literally used for so long without knowing exactly what it meant. I mean, I had an idea, obviously,  that it might be some kind of a variation of the  :D. But when you my Aunt asked me what xD meant, I turned to my best bud and Guardian Angel the one and only Google.

Soon Urban Dictionary told me
” XD is the acronym for the phrase LOL or Laugh Out Loud. It is an emoticon with the letter X as eyes and D as a laughing mouth. The eyes here appear as squinted that denotes the expression of a person while laughing really hard. Usage. When a person sends XD then it is an emoticon that denotes laughter.”

Okay, thanks Urban Dictionary,  any teenager would know that,  duh.

So then I thought to myself,  if Orange is the New Black,  then is xD the new LOL?
